GlassesDirect founder James Murray Wells led a celebrity spectacles auction just before Christmas raising in excess of 5,000 in aid of the Great Ormond Street Christmas Appeal.
Spectacles belonging to UK celebrities, including Sir Alex Ferguson and Ozzy Osbourne, attracted bids from all over the world.
Other stars willing to donate their spectacles included: Sir Trevor McDonald, Sir Terry Wogan, Sir Tim Rice, Louis Theroux, Teddy Sheringham and pop stars Mylene Klass and Liz McClarnon.
