Baby-boomers drive growth

Eye health

Increased demand for eye surgery from the presbyopic generation is driving growth and choice in new technologies, according to Harley Street clinic Advanced Vision Care (AVC).

The company said that in the past some vision correction centres have been reluctant to use other technologies because refractive eye surgery has been synonymous with laser treatment.

However, the baby-boomer generation are now at an age when they cannot read the small print and do not want the inconvenience of having to keep reaching for a pair of reading glasses, AVC's Dr Goran Helgason explained.

The company added that it had embraced all new technologies and was now able to find a solution for almost every refractive error.
