​Over two thirds of contact lens wearers admit they have fallen asleep in lenses

More than two thirds of contact lens wearers in the UK admit they have fallen asleep in their lenses, according to a recent report commissioned by Vision Direct.

The study, conducted in the run up to National Eye Health Week (September 18-24), revealed that many UK lens wearers were putting their vision at risk by developing bad habits.

Of the 70% of people who said they had fallen asleep in their lenses, 41% explained that they had forgotten to take them out before going to bed, while 27% stated that they had a bit too much to drink and 21% said they were too tired to take them out.
