Better communication and taking on feedback will be at the heart of the Federation of Manufacturing Opticians’ future, chairman Barry Dibble told members at his inaugural address last week.
Speaking to a packed FMO meeting, Dibble laid out the plans for his two-year tenure, while members were also briefed on the progress of Optrafair London.
‘We are a trade organisation here to represent the membership and represent their views. We can only do this more readily if we meet and find out what those wishes are,’ he said.
Dibble insisted the FMO had to modernise by embracing the new and being part of the future. ‘We have to move, we have to engage and we have to move forward. What I will not do is be party to an old boy’s network that looks to the past.’
