Bausch & Lomb issues another solution recall

Bausch & Lomb has recalled more than one million bottles of ReNu Multiplus contact lens solution.

Excess amounts of iron were discovered which could cause the cleaner to lose its effectiveness earlier than normal.

The company said it had received no reports of serious harm to users of ReNu Multiplus and that the affected batches were distributed in the US, Canada, Latin America and Taiwan.

B&L added that it had carried out the voluntary recall of 12 lots of ReNu Multiplus solution after getting three customer reports of discoloured solution. The affected lots were not distributed in the UK and the rest of Europe.
