Lens manufacturer BBGR has launched Neva, an anti-reflective coating that incorporates a smudge-proof agent.
The company claimed that the exclusive formula of the coating allowed the lenses to remain smudge-free longer and made them twice as easy to clean. This allowed the anti-reflection performance to be maintained, combined with visual comfort and aesthetic enhancement.
'BBGR Neva is for all wearers, whether they have already adopted anti-reflective coatings or are still hesitant, believing these products are too difficult to keep clean.'
BBGR added that the innovation lay in the application of the top coat, a process that ensured the optimum density of fluorosilane molecules on the lens surface.
It said that because the fluorine chains on Neva were 10 times longer than those on a standard anti-reflective lens, the performance was better, offering maximum protection against impurities.
Use of low surface energy and friction coefficient made the Neva Top Coat surface particularly waterproof and slippery, with particles adhering less, the company explained.
'Laboratory tests have demonstrated Neva's efficiency, placing it among the most effective surface treatments on the market,' it added.
To mark the launch of the Neva coating, BBGR is offering practitioners the chance to win an 'Ice break of a lifetime' at the Ice Hotel at Jukkasjarvi in Swedish Lapland.
The BBGR trip is for two people, departing on January 28, 2006 for four days and three nights, taking in Lapp cuisine and reindeer and husky safaris.
The promotion runs from February 1 to September 30 2005, with a scratch card for each Neva lens sold.
There will also be five runner-up prizes of one piece of Swedish Kosta Boda Crystal.
