The BCLA is expanding its course programme to target trainee contact lens opticians and receptionists as well as qualified staff.

A one-day revision course for trainee contact lens opticians, which runs at the Institute of Optometry in London on November 30, is designed for DOs preparing for the ABDO examinations. The course programme will include an interactive session on the recognition and management of CL-induced problems, and is approved for eight CL CET points.

Optometrist and staff training specialist Sarah Morgan will host a one-day course for optical receptionists in London on December 4. 'Lens application and removal - the ins and outs!' is aimed at front-line staff involved with or about to embark on teaching patients how to care for their contact lenses.

The BCLA Pioneers' Conference, at London's Royal Society of Medicine on November 22, will cover developments in dry eye management and refractive surgery. This event is free and open to BCLA members only.

Non-members joining before the conference can also attend free of charge.
