BCLA lands on Chinese soil

More than 240 delegates attended the first ever BCLA Asia conference

More than 240 delegates attended the first ever BCLA Asia conference in Hong Kong earlier this month, hearing from a host of speakers on how the contact lens industry can grow in the future.

The event, ‘Correction for the Future’, followed a partnership between the BCLA and the Hong Kong Cornea and Contact Lens Society.

BCLA president Brian Tompkins said: ‘Asia is an emerging market, with significant growth in contact lenses. That represents a huge opportunity for us as an industry and BCLA Asia has been a superb way to bring eye care professionals together.’

BCLA Asia was launched with a traditional dance from a Chinese dragon to welcome delegates before the conference began.
