Revolution Eyewear and Apple Corps, the multi-media company formed by The Beatles, have signed a licence agreement for the worldwide rights to develop imagery from certain Beatles songs for use on frames and sunglasses.
The first collection under the agreement, Yellow Submarine, debuted at the recent Vision Expo East exhibition in Las Vegas. The collection, available in the UK through L A Eyewear, features unique artwork detailing on the insides of frames from the film, which is due for re-release in 2012.
President of Revolution Eyewear Gary Martin said: 'I am so honoured to be involved in this project. All of the pieces in the Yellow Submarine line had to get unanimous acceptance from the Apple Corps board of directors, which includes Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Olivia Harrison and Yoko Ono.'
