Bird Eyewear to stop online frame sales

British sustainable frame brand Bird Eyewear has announced it will stop selling its ophthalmic frames on its website on
December 29 to foster better relationships with its optician customers.

Company founder Ed Bird said it was a big change for the company and one that had been made for positive reasons. ‘We want to prioritise and champion the connections between our flock and their local optician.

'Supporting local businesses and lowering the carbon footprint of our optical frames,’ he said. Bird added the company’s optician customer list had trebled in the past 12 months.
