The Reakta short-corridor progressive lenses are called Tru Vue Micro and have a minimum fitting height of 16mm. Birmingham Optical director John Cooper explained that the 1.6 version gave the benefit of being 30 per cent thinner and lighter.
The company has also added two new fashion colours of Amber and Magenta in its Polaroid range of prescription lenses.
'Having seen the reaction from the UK market to the Reakta range of coloured photochromics, it seemed that the general public were switched on by Fashion Colours, so we decided to extend that interest into the Polaroid range,' added Mr Cooper.
'When people go to buy plano sunspecs there are always multiple lens colour options available, so why not make them available in Rx lenses.'
