B&L wins approval

Bausch & Lomb has received marketing approval in the US, via the Food & Drug Administration, for its silicone-hydrogel lens for extended wear of up to seven days. Meanwhile, Ciba Vision has claimed its Focus Night & Day extended wear soft contact lenses are the first on the market which are capable of transmitting the high amount of oxygen needed for continuous wear. Having received the CE mark in December, Focus Day & Night lenses were launched in Spain this month.
