Blackfin win coveted prize at Silmo d'Or awards

One of the most coveted prizes at the annual Silmo d’Or awards is the Technological Innovation category, which this year was won by Italian eyewear manufacturer Blackfin for its Shark-lock glazing system.

Designed by Blackfin senior vice-president of product and design Corrado Rosson (centre), the system uses special grooving in the rim that enables the lenses to be locked into the frame inside a thin sheet of metal.

‘This is also a prize for Italy and for all those who, like us, believe in the authenticity of the Italian product,' said a very happy Nicola del Din (right), managing director of Pramaor, who was also joined at the awards by company CFO Giancarlo Recchia (left).
