Boots offers locums a bonus of free CET

A multiple is offering locums a free day of CET at its prestigious conference if they work a dozen or more days at the company this summer.

The offer is part of Boots Opticians' new two-year preferred supplier deal with ETI Centre Locum Link, the Derby-based recruitment company, to supply professional staff to its practices. As a result of the agreement Centre Locum Link will become the first-choice provider of locum staff to Boots Opticians' practices.

'To celebrate the launch of this new arrangement Boots and Centre Locum link are offering a free day of CET at one of the Boots Opticians' conferences in November to any locum who works 12 days or more at a Boots' practice between now and August,' said Richard Edwards, head of professional resource and development at Boots.

'We have worked with ETI Centre Locum Link for a number of years and I'm delighted that we can take that relationship on to a new level with this primary supplier deal. Given that this is the first year of compulsory CET it seemed appropriate to mark this new arrangement with a CET offer.'

Helen Judge, manager of Centre Locum Link, outlined the benefits to her organisation and her clients.

'Boots is one of the biggest employers in the UK optics market and this deal means that our locum staff will benefit by having the first choice of available work with Boots.

'The free CET offer is a great opportunity for our locums to secure the majority of their annual CET requirement in one day and could potentially save them hundreds of pounds.'

Edwards added that following Boots' successful high profile CET events last year, 'we have two fantastic days planned in November', and was pleased to extend the free CET provision beyond Boots' own employees this year.
