Boots opens 20th franchise

Boots Opticians will open its 20th franchise practice on February 12, having recently marked its 20th birthday.

Since last July, Boots Opticians has converted six in-store and three free-standing practices to the franchise format.

Franchise development manager Deana O'Dare said: 'We're extremely pleased both with the sales growth in these practices and the fact that the practice teams are happy and settled in the new businesses.'

There are three franchise openings in February with Ashby-de-La-Zouch and Hull going 'live' on February 1, followed by Gateshead on February 12.

Optometrist Richard Bowers, practice manager in Boots Opticians Braehead, Glasgow, is relocating as brand partner in Gateshead.
