Boots Opticians boss leaves role

Boots Opticians managing director Ben Fletcher has stepped down from his role at the company after six years.

A company statement said he had led the business through a period of significant change towards creating a health-led optician.

‘Having now completed the work it has been agreed that the next cycle presents an opportunity for new leadership therefore Ben has taken the decision to pursue new opportunities outside of the business,’ it added.

Fletcher was appointed managing director in October 2013 and prior to that was finance director of Boots UK & Ireland. He joined Boots UK as commercial finance director in July 2011.
