Boy blasts Apple’s glasses emoji

A 10 year old boy from Oxfordshire started a petition calling for Apple to change its ‘offensive and insulting’ glasses emoji with prominent front teeth.

Teddy from Peppard redesigned the original emoji as he said it gave people the wrong impression of people who wear glasses.

‘I think people who wear glasses are cool and I am worried that people who are getting glasses for the first time will think they are going to look like rabbits or rats,’ he said.

Teddy shared his concerns with a teacher, who loved his inquisitive mind, and she helped him to kickstart the petition first around the school and then online.
