Bristol independent relocation pays off

Independent Bristol practice Bramley Pope took a ‘massive risk’ by relocating to new premises in Bedminster after nearly three decades based in the old city.

The independent largely catered to office workers city visitors, but following a tough few post-pandemic years, owner and dispensing optician Mark Illett decided to risk the move.

Illet has signed a seven-year lease on new premises in the quieter location of North Street, moving over Christmas and launching the new practice on January 17.

‘We are already experiencing higher footfall in a neighbourhood rather than city centre location. It was a good move and we are delighted that the business is going so well,’ he said.
