Bristol-based Lynne Fernandes Optometrists is to feature in a new CBeebies series entitled “My First…” that will be broadcast on CBeebies on 24 March at 9am and again at 1pm.
The new series aimed at a pre-school audience records the first experiences of children under six-years-old. In this episode director, Lynne Fernandes, guides local child Izabel through her first visit to the opticians.
During the episode she has her eyes tested and then makes a trip to the Essilor manufacturing facility to see her first lenses being made.
Fernandes said: ‘I am so pleased creators of the show decided to highlight a child’s first eye examination and first pair of glasses. It was important to us to let Izabel know that going to the opticians is a fun experience. It’s not just about getting a new pair of glasses – it’s about how to look after her eyes from childhood through to being an adult.’
