Fundraiser Susan England has commenced training for the London to Brighton bike ride in June to raise money for the British Heart Foundation in memory of former Optician news editor David Challinor, who worked at the journal for ten years before becoming editor of Optometry Today.
Aged 50, he sadly passed away last summer following a heart attack. England, a close family friend, said she wanted to complete the 54 mile bike ride for the charity ‘as a small gesture of support’ for his wife Sara, who is the art editor of Optician, and daughter Lucy.
