A Banbury optician fears he is being targeted by thieves after burglars broke into the premises for the third time in two years and made off with £6,000 of Oakley sunglasses.

A Banbury optician fears he is being targeted by thieves after burglars broke into the premises for the third time in two years and made off with £6,000 of Oakley sunglasses.

Edward Ukleja, owner of Peepers Opticians on High Street, Banbury, told Optician this week that he feared that insurers would now hike up premiums or limit cover because of its claims record.

Burglars broke into the premises by smashing the front window on January 23 at around 6.30am and stole 40 pairs of Oakley sunglasses from a display cabinet.

'It was obvious that they knew what they were looking for when they broke in because they walked passed of lot of other stock and left it untouched,' explained Ukleja.
