Cardiff students return to Romania

A group of optometry undergraduates from Cardiff University along with local practitioners exceeded their expectations on a recent charity trip to Romania.

The volunteers set themselves a target of seeing 800 patients during a four-day trip but actually tested over 1,000. Student coordinator Juliet Ashwell said they were very pleased with the trip which had been enjoyable as well as rewarding. Part of the group's funding was provided by a donation of nearly £900 from the charity casino at the Optician Awards in April.
