Care Opticians acquired

Optimism Health Group has acquired domiciliary eye care provider Care Opticians and launched a joint venture partnership (JVP) structure through its OutsideClinic brand.

Care Opticians operated 12 regional franchises in England and Scotland with the acquisition set to increase OutsideClinic’s capacity to offer at home optometry services.

The company explained the ownership structure was similar to the franchise model operated by Care Opticians and would optometrists working for OutsideClinic to set up a JVP.

Henry Pitman, chairman of Optimism Health Group, said: ‘This opportunity is a further step towards our objective of creating a substantial domiciliary group and will help us to further extend our offering to individuals that are unable to access high street optometry, allowing us to reach more housebound individuals and help maximise their quality of life.’
