Rodenstock UK's new managing director Keith Carnes aims to enhance the firm's marketing, sales and customer service support.

Carnes, who worked for Gillette for 21 years in senior marketing and sales roles, brings experience of promoting premium consumer product to the optical market. He said he was impressed with many aspects of the Rodenstock operation.

'Quality products and services come through loud and clear from the industry. There is extensive experience with many individuals who have been with Rodenstock for their careers and who are very professional in their approach, but our capability can be improved.'

He added that he had a focus on trade marketing, sales and customer service. 'The newly launched Star Club is key to our success and to tailor-make this to individual requirements.We aim to put the tools in place to enable practices to trade up to be premium practices, which will show significant returns for practice revenues.
