Celebrity stylist Gok Wan has joined forces with Specsavers Opticians to unveil the company's spring and summer designer ranges.

gokGok, presenter of C4's How to Look Good Naked, helped to unveil the new range in London's West End last week.

Gok, who agreed to become Specsavers' resident 'specspert' through his love of glasses, said: 'Glasses are an essential fashion accessory as well as an optical necessity and TV shows like Ugly Betty have popularised them, bringing about something of a specs revolution with the whole geek chic theme. There has never been a better time to be a specs wearer.'

Specsavers frame buyer Karl Taylor added: 'There has been a significant increase in the number of people buying designer frames, especially in the younger age groups. Last year, we saw a 75 per cent increase in designer spec sales, which shows a clear shift in the buying pattern in this age group. Specsavers stocks more than 2,000 styles, including designs from Ralph Lauren, fcuk, Tommy Hilfiger, Red or Dead, Quicksilver, Roxy, Monsoon and as well as its own best-selling designer range Osiris.
