CET claims error by DoH

The Department of Health has acted to clear up an inconsistency between the guidance on CET claims and the claim form.

The error concerns claiming for an assistant. The DoH has advised optical body FODO to follow the guidance and that the claim form will be amended.

A FODO spokesman said: 'Part 4 [of the form] is wrong and sends a different message, as it refers to sending the claim to the PCT where the contractor is listed, whereas for assistants [the respondent needs to] send the claim to the PCT where the assistant is listed.'

He revealed the Department would correct the form to state: 'Where this is in respect of my personal CET I also confirm that I am a contractor on the ophthalmic list of the PCT from whom I am claiming this grant and that it is the only claim for the Department of Health CET grant that I have submitted or will submit in respect of 2004.'

The amended form will be available shortly through FODO and the DoH's websites.
