CET rules amended

GOC members heard yesterday that Department of Health lawyers have requested clarification of CET rules relating to specialist points, and points required at restoration.

GOC members heard yesterday that Department of Health lawyers have requested clarification of CET rules relating to specialist points, and points required at restoration.

The changes put forward to yesterday’s Council confirmed that ‘half’ points would be rounded down and that an individual applying for restoration, irrespective of the point in the CET cycle at which they apply, will need to have the relevant number of points for the 12 months preceding restoration.

The previous rules, therefore, are being revoked and the full set of changes were made at the meeting.

However, decisions made at the March GOC meeting, which maintained a three-year cycle and increased fees for those who become a listed provider from £35 to £45 will remain. These rules come into effect from January next year.
