Change at BCLA

Neil Retallic will formally take over from Indie Grewal after the BCLA's AGM

The British Contact Lens Association’s (BCLA) has announced that its new president Neil Retallic will formally take over from Indie Grewal after its annual general meeting on September 9.

At Retallic’s inaugural presidential address, he will present a webinar on how practitioners could adapt to a post-pandemic world.

He said: ‘The pandemic has given us an opportunity to think differently and reflect on how we utilise technology as eye care professionals, to keep pace with the evolving needs and behavioural changes of our patients.

'Mental health related issues have doubled in 2021 compared to before the pandemic and this presentation discusses how we can best relate, influence, motivate and maximise success for our contact lens patients in this "new" world.'

Retallic previously worked as professional services manager for CooperVision and was an optometry teaching fellow at the University of Manchester. He also worked as an assessor and examiner for the College of Optometrists.
