Charities fund child screening in Cambodia

cambodia

An eye care project launched in Cambodia by Optometry Giving Sight and the Brien Holden Vision Institute has screened 14,132 children from five schools in the past year.

Bak Touk High School in Phnom Penh alone had 5,000 children screened, while 1,024 adults had their eyes tested either in schools or the wider community.

Clive Miller, CEO of Optometry Giving Sight, said: ‘We are very encouraged by the figures of school children reached during the last year for this programme. Our funding support has provided essential eye care for many children, and also some adults, who would otherwise not have access to good vision and the opportunities they deserve.’
