Charity aims to raise its profile

Optical charity Vision Aid Overseas has updated its logo as part of a plan to raise its profile.

The change in corporate style is one of a number of innovations as the charity, which is based in Crawley, West Sussex, seeks to expand its work with some of the poorest people in the world. Televisionpresenters Sir Trevor McDonald and Fiona Bruce have also recently agreed to become vice presidents and VAO is working with producers on two TVprogrammes that are to be broadcast in the next six months. These programmes would provide an ideal launch to 2005 which is VAO's 20th anniversary, said director Tym Marsh. 'The charity is making tremendous progress but we need greatly to increase support both within the world of optics and beyond. Our ambitious plans to help restore the sight of many more patients will need ever greater resources. 'Additional help from companies and individuals is urgently required,' he added.
