Specsavers co-founder Dame Mary Perkins was not the only dame at the company's recent Children's Charitable Foundation fundraiser. She was joined in Guernsey by TV celebrity Dame Edna Everage, who made her first appearance on the island to support the charity.
The event raised more than £12,000, which will help support needy and disadvantaged children living in the Bailiwick of Guernsey. 'The evening was a huge success and everyone enjoyed the blend of cocktails and cabaret. Raising more than £12,000 means that we can help many more children in the Bailiwick,' said Dame Mary Perkins, who is also patron of the Specsavers Children's Charitable Foundation.
