Ophthalmology hospital Community Health and Eye Care (CHEC) Worcester commemorated its first anniversary of working in partnership with the NHS to increase patient choice and reduce waiting times.

Since opening at St. Martin’s Quarter in April 2023, the hospital has provided 7,900 patient appointments, completed over 1,200 cataract surgeries and ensured waiting times of up to one week.

It has also pioneered a range of initiatives including setting up a Home to Hospital pick up service and an online patient booking app.

‘It’s hard to believe it’s only a year ago that we welcomed our first patients to CHEC Worcester. We’d like to thank the local community for choosing CHEC, trusting us to deliver the highest standards of care, and for joining us to celebrate our first anniversary this week,’ said hospital manager, Kathryn Irving.
