A conference hosted by Efclin and Euromcontact on October 19 will discuss some key distribution issues in the contact lens sector, including technology advancement, regulation, and consumer behaviour.
The event, taking place at the Radisson Blu Hotel near Amsterdam Shiphol airport, will present the findings of research carried out by Euromcontact on cosmetic lenses sold through alternative non-optical distribution channels. There will be talks on how e-commerce operators supply contact lenses and how optical chains deal with this side of their business.
Ian Davies, vice president of The Vision Care Institute at Johnson & Johnson Medical will kick off the conference by discussing the market share held by the internet and other distribution channels, as well as addressing present regulation of particular markets.
