Cockatoo aims to protect children

A new range of tough sunglasses for children aged one to 12 years has been launched by Bollé.

Called the Kid's Collection, the range comes in three styles - Cockatoo for one- to three-year-olds, Husky for three- to six-year-olds and Komodo for eight to 12-year-olds. A selection of bright colours include cherry, gold and night blue. The lenses provide 100 per cent UVA and UVB protection and the nylon frames are claimed to be virtually unbreakable. Bollé hopes the 'cool' collection will encourage children to wear sunglasses. 'Children's eyes are twice as vulnerable to sun damage as those of adults,' says UK sales and marketing manager Dawne Warren. 'We want to make the parental reflex of putting sunglasses on kids as natural as it is to put the right shoes on their feet.' - Details on 0181 770 1766.
