A collection day was held for visitors to the Crisis at Christmas clinics run by Vision Care for Homeless People volunteers.
Richard Trusler, London manager of lens provider Essilor, said the company had this year glazed 264 pairs of Specsavers frames for the seasonal appeal.
‘This is our eighth year of supporting the charity and each year the number grows. The most extreme prescriptions have been +10.00D and -7.00D, with 80 per cent single vision and 20 per cent bifocals. We are very happy to be involved with this as we know we are making glasses for people in need, and they will make life a lot better for them,’ he said.
