The College of Optometrists is working on drafting a five-year research strategy, focusing on priorities identified at a workshop last Friday and attended by over 50 stakeholders.
Eye health professionals, including optometrists, ophthalmologists, academics and DOs, met with specialists and representatives from the voluntary sector and the DoH.

Fiona Nixon, director of professional standards at the College, said: 'The day was a real success, enabling us to generate a clear idea of the consensus of opinion regarding current issues in the sector and the evidence base which will be required. Consulting widely gave key stakeholders the opportunity to shape the future direction of the strategy.'
