College of Optometrists research journal Ophthalmic and Physiological Optics has been ranked 13th in the top 58 international ophthalmology, optometry and vision science journals

College of Optometrists research journal Ophthalmic and Physiological Optics has increased its Impact Factor from 1.74 to 2.66, ranking it as 13th in the top 58 international ophthalmology, optometry and vision science journals.

It was the first time the journal has been in the top 20 and made it the top optometry journal in the world.

Impact Factor is calculated through the number of citations of OPO articles in a given period.

Professor David Elliott, editor-in-chief of OPO, said: ‘We are very proud to be able to say that OPO is recognised as a key resource for academics, clinicians and researchers in optometry, ophthalmology and vision science, and pleased that the issues in the last couple of years have been so successful. This is down to a great team effort from our associate editors, editorial board members, feature issue editors, authors, reviewers and staff at the College and Wiley publishers.
