College urges members to get involved

Members of the College of Optometrists have been called upon to help mould the future of the organisation and the profession by applying for places on the 2014 College Council.

Council members participate in local meetings, act as ambassadors for the profession and relay members’ views directly to the College. They also have the opportunity to join one of the College’s committees, working groups or reference groups, support its events and contribute to its public relations activity.

‘For me, involvement in Council is an opportunity to input at a national level, and to ensure that the view of the community optometrist is always represented,’ said current Council member Sanjay Patel.
