College welcomes new council members

Optometrists Hamza Mussa and Ian White were welcomed as council members for the College of Optometrists at its annual general meeting at Aston University on June 6.  

Mussa will represent the West Midlands and White will represent the North-West, while seven existing council members retained their seats in other regions.  

Professor Leon Davies, president at the College, said: ‘The College council sets the strategic and professional direction of the College and ensures that we remain true to our principles and accountable to our members.’ 

It was also announced at the AGM that Professor Kathryn Saunders was elected as a trustee and Dr Irene Ctori was elected as chair of the education and standards committee.
