New research has found contact lens wearers lack compliance with professional and manufacturer recommendations.
The research, published in the October edition of Contact Lens and Anterior Eye, found that although compliance was slightly better in daily disposable wearers, 85 per cent were still not fully compliant.
A number of factors which influenced compliance were revealed. Variations were seen across different territories, which the authors said may be a result of varying levels of CL regulation in different countries. Women generally showed better compliance than men, and older people were more compliant than younger.
The independent web survey, funded by Bausch+Lomb, surveyed 4,021 people in 13 countries across a range of contact lens users.
