The 29th conference, which takes place next month, will run for three days in South Gloucestershire.
In addition to nearly a dozen lectures, the event will stage 12 workshops including the chance for delegates to get involved in seminars on 'contact lenses after refractive surgery', 'colour vision' and 'assessment and management of patients with learning difficulties'.
Lectures include 'Development of diabetic eye screening services' (Maria Dengler-Harles, principal optometrist at Liverpool's Walton Hospital), 'NHS action-on programme' (Barbara Parry, National Advisory Group, NHS Modernisation Agency Group) and Professor Adrian Hill, former head of optometry at Oxford Eye Hospital will talk on 'A road less travelled'.
The conference is scheduled to take place from September 26-28 at the Tortworth Court Hotel, Tortworth, Wooton under Edge, with a dinner and ceilidh on the Saturday of the weekend event.
