Conlons Opticians has struck a deal to take over Rowe Opticians in Annan, south-west Scotland.

The independent chain, which has locations in nearby Dumfries and Carlisle, said it would be adding professional hearing care at the practice.

John Welsby, managing director of Conlons Opticians, said: ‘We are proud to be a family business and delighted to be coming to Annan. We feel confident that we have taken on a fantastic location and excellent team and I look forward to working with them and getting to know the local community.’

Rowe’s staff would continue to be employed by Conlons, which planned to introduce new frame ranges including Ray-Ban and Oakley.
