Conlons wins European practice award

Staff at Conlons Opticians in Dumfries are celebrating after being named the national winner of the PureVision European Practice of the Year for 2003.

There are 10 employees at the practice which was established in 1978. It has grown the PureVision patient base by 680 per cent since introducing the lens in 1999, running promotional activities including window displays, POS material and advertising. It has also set up a website. Last year, the practice went a step further and hosted open evenings and road shows to talk directly to its patients about PureVision.
As national winner, Conlons receives a Bausch & Lomb-funded open evening including all refreshments, lens trials and invitation mailouts. The staff will be treated to a night out and receive a plaque.
Harold Anderson, representing the practice, said: 'We are delighted that our practice has been chosen as the national winner and are very proud of our staff members for their consistent hard work. PureVision has allowed us to increase customer loyalty due to high product satisfaction and is now first choice for patients.'
The overall winner of the 2003 Award was Kontaktlinse Instituttet in Denmark. The competition is open to all practices in Europe and recognises them for their commitment to B&L and its PureVision contact lenses.
