Contact lens helps bring triple gold success

Ellis and Killpartrick Opticians helps archer, Sarah Fern, win three gold medals

Ellis and Killpartrick Opticians in Bath has helped archer, Sarah Fern, win three gold medals at the World Masters Archery Championships by fitting her contact lenses.

Fern had been a long-standing CL patient but recently decided to have laser eye surgery to correct her vision. The surgery was a great success and made one eye emmetropic, while leaving the other slightly myopic to produce a monovision result.

This, however, inhibited her ability to perform to her best in archery as wearing a spectacle lens to correct the remaining myopic eye hindered Fern’s performance.

Instead, she was fitted with a contact lens to correct her myopic eye. She went on to win gold medals for outdoor, indoor and field archery against 356 other contenders at the championships in Lausanne, Switzerland.
