Optrafair to host hub dedicated to subject of contact lenses

A specialist hub dedicated to the subject of contact lenses will be co-hosted by the BCLA at this year’s Optrafair, organisers have announced.

Acting on requests from last year’s event for more contact lens resources, experts from the BCLA will be on hand to answer delegates’ questions about how they can get the most out of contact lenses and the management of ocular surface health.

Meanwhile, Alcon, BCLA Partners and CooperVision will run a series of peer-review sessions where attendees will be able to earn CET points on key subjects like ocular surface health and dry eye.

BCLA president Keith Tempany said: ‘Optrafair gives us an opportunity to reach a huge audience and help people get more confident on the subject of contact lenses, getting them up to date with the very latest research and technology.

‘Key areas for us are dry eye and myopia management – these are areas with the potential for huge growth and subjects everyone needs to know about. We will be there at the CL Hub to answer any questions and give people the information they need to make a real difference in everyday practice.’

Optrafair will take place between 14-16 April at the NEC in Birmingham. For more information, and to register for the event, visit optrafair.co.uk.
