Contact lens materials firm wins Queen’s Award for Enterprise

A royal stamp of honour, the Queen’s Award for Enterprise 2016 – innovation category, has been given to the Saffron Walden-based contact lens materials firm Contamac.

Lord Petre, HM Lord-Lieutenant of Essex (pictured centre left), presented the award to Contamac representatives late last month.

‘It gave the company great pleasure to receive the first award in 2012, the year of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, and our second in the year of her Majesty’s 90th birthday,’ said John McGregor (pictured second left), chairman and founder of Contamac.

Contamac who also won a Queen’s award in 2012.
