The Federation of Manufacturing Opticians has announced that John Conway, general manager of Seiko Optical UK, is the new chairman of OLMADA, the organisation's ophthalmic lens distributors and manufacturers' association.
He will be supported in this role by Kevin Gutsell, marketing director of Nikon UK and longstanding FMO member.
Conway is one of only 525 UK company directors to complete a three-year training course to become an accredited chartered director, 'the highest accolade of company directorship, awarded by The Institute of Directors'. He is also a liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Spectacle Makers.
FMO chairman Andrew Actman said: 'We are delighted that John brings such expertise to this specialist association. He is well respected and well known within the industry and his knowledge will be an enormous benefit to our members.'
