Cooper reports sales boost

Cooper Companies, parent company of Cooper Vision, has reported a 12 per cent year-on-year increase in first quarter sales for 2008 to $245m, citing strong sales of contact lens products. The parent company's first quarter results revealed that sales of single use lenses nearly doubled, up 41 per cent from last year's first quarter to be worth $36.2m.

Cooper Companies, parent company of Cooper Vision, has reported a 12 per cent year-on-year increase in first quarter sales for 2008 to $245m, citing strong sales of contact lens products. The parent company's first quarter results revealed that sales of single use lenses nearly doubled, up 41 per cent from last year's first quarter to be worth $36.2m.

Revenue from ProClear products was also up by 34 per cent to $51.6m when compared to the same period last year.

For the Biofinity range, the company reported $9.1m in revenue in the first quarter of 2008, nearly double that of the fourth quarter of 2007.
