CooperVision appoints new country manager

CooperVision has appointed Doug Bairner as country manager for the UK and Ireland

CooperVision has appointed Doug Bairner as country manager for the UK and Ireland, replacing Debbie Olive who has been promoted to senior vice president for Europe.

Bairner would be responsible for the leadership and management of the contact lens company’s UK operations, its third biggest global market.

He joins the CooperVision with experience in commercial, category marketing and general management roles at Proctor & Gamble, Innocent Drinks, Red Bull and BrewDog. Most recently, he was CEO at agri-tech company Hectare.

Speaking about his appointment, Bairner said that contact lens subscriptions are an area of huge potential growth for the sector.

‘Many wearers describe the moment they’re fitted with contact lenses as life changing and we want to help eye care practitioners to deliver even more of these experiences for their patients, and in a way that works for their in-practice operations and their bottom line. It’s a challenge that I’m really looking forward to working with retail partners on,’ he explained.
