Global contact lens manufacturer CooperVision has launched a new brand of silicone hydrogel daily disposable contact lenses called Live.

Specifically aimed at 18-25 year-olds, Live has an entry-level price point.CooperVision said one third of daily disposable patients wear their lenses in excess of 10 hours per day, while 50 per cent admitted to napping in their lenses.‘These statistics highlight the demand for a contact lens that provides long-lasting comfort and a healthy lens-wearing experience, at an affordable price,’ it said.The lenses, incorporating CooperVision’s AquaGen Technology, were produced in letterbox friendly slimline packaging for postal convenience.Sarah Weston, senior marketing manager at CooperVision, said: ‘As a company we’re committed to providing practitioners with contact lenses that meet today’s lifestyle demands.‘Live offers practitioners a superb opportunity to appeal to young adults. The 18-25 year-old age group are the most likely to be interested in contact lenses and possibly start a lifetime of contact lens wearing behaviour. With Live, we’re proud to make the benefits of silicone hydrogel daily disposable lenses more accessible to a wider audience.’ The Live daily disposable lenses, which block 98% of UVB and 78% of UVA rays, were available in powers from +8.00 to -10.00.
